Applying for Funding
QERDP grant rounds are conducted twice a year – typically in February and August. Before applying, potential applicants are strongly advised to contact the QERDP Secretariat on 1300 881 225 to register their interest and discuss their application.
Eligible events
To be eligible for funding, events must be located in regional Queensland, outside of the Brisbane City Council area. They must have been held at least once or, if in the concept stage, be at an advanced stage of development with demonstrated community support.
Organisations intending to bring a one-off event to their region may also apply, with funding awarded once the event is secured.
The event must be organised by a formally constituted organisation or a group which has a written agreement with a formally constituted organisation to provide an auspice. QERDP will accept an umbrella application from organisations on behalf of a number of events seeking support.
Uses of funding
Funding cannot be used for:
- insurance
- capital or equipment costs
- prize money
- appearance fees
- sanctioning fees
- entertainment
Eligible uses for QERDP funding include employment personnel to further develop and market the event or to pay operational costs that are seen to improve the visitor experience eg. temporary toilets or improved access. Funding can also be used for strategic marketing campaigns to increase awareness and visitation and on methods to address the long-term development of the event.
